With beautiful walking trails,dramatic cliffs, peacefull riverside scenery and plenty of opportunities to spot local wildlife, its an easy addition to your Launceston itinery.

The south esk river winds through the gorge, creating a remarkable landscape so close to the city centre. Whether you’re looking for a gentle stroll, a scenic walk, somewhere to enjoy a coffee or simply a beautiful place to slow down, cataract gorge offers something for everyone.

For visitors staying at Mac & Sylvia’s Apartment 30, the gorge is particulary convienient. From the Apartment, you can walk towards the Cataract gorge and enjoy the changing scenery as you leave the city behind.

Allow around 30 minutes for the walk to the gorge,its a wonderful way to experience our beautiful city on foot.
